Building your Second Tier at Commission Junction

Growing your second tier is one of the best ways to earn additional income with Commission Junction; it is simple and can generate substantial consistent income when done correctly. Here is a simple three-step process you can follow to increase your revenues and build your bottom line. First target prospects, then invite them to join, and finally educate your second tier for success. Sounds simple right?

Not everyone makes a great affiliate, on average only 10% of the total number of affiliate in most merchant programs are actually active (even less earn money.) The best affiliates are individuals who own their own website or are webmasters at larger sites with some control over adverting partnerships. Contrary to the popular belief of link farms, sites focused on a specific niche generate the most revenues from affiliate programs. You will also need to make sure the individual is not already a member of Commission Junction.

Once you have targeted a few prospects, visit their websites, note some great things they are doing, and drop them a personal note complementing them and asking if they are currently interested in Affiliate Marketing or Revenue Sharing Programs. If they respond in the affirmative, then politely recommend Commission Junction and build a relationship. It always helps to follow up offline with a phone call, offering to answer any questions they may have.

It will not be long before others start joining your second tier, you will want to keep in touch and help them with the implementation once they are members. Remember the more successful you can make them and their sites, the more revenues you earn through CJ’s 5% commission on 2^nd-tier revenues in addition to the $2.00 referral fee. Consider cross promotions and joining similar newsletter. People don’t have time to read all the affiliate related newsletters out there, so each of you pick a few then hold a conference call to chat about what you have learned.

Building your second tier isn’t just to increase your income; it helps build a network of sites that reach more visitors than a single site alone. To build your second tier target prospective affiliates, invite them to join, and educate them for their success. It only takes one of your second tier’s outstanding successes to make you a super affiliate, and with these steps I know you can.
